Settlers move into homes of brand new Israeli settlement, deep in West Bank

They have been established with the ‘blood’ of Palestinians and against International Law. Which the Zionist continue to ignore with impunity, as the International Community and the UN do nothing about it!

Constructions of the Israeli settlement continues on Palestinian lands on 22 November 2017

Israeli settlers “unveiled” the new settlement of Amichai yesterday, moving into their new homes deep in the occupied West Bank.

Amichai is the first brand new settlement in the West Bank in some two decades. However, this does not include “unauthorised” settlement outposts retroactively “legalised” by the Israeli government.

All Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory are viewed as a grave violation of international law by the United Nations Security Council, International Court of Justice and others.

An official ceremony was held yesterday “marking the move-in day of the first 25 families”, with another 17 families slated to join them after Passover. The ceremony came a month after Israeli occupation authorities started building homes at the new settlement.

Implementing Paris Agreement Could Save USD 54 Trillion in Health Care #auspol #qldpol #StopAdani

Something, some of us have been telling Government, local and national, for at least two decades!

jpratt27

UN Climate Change News, 5 March 2018 – Meeting the objectives of the Paris Climate Change Agreement by investing in low emissions technology would save governments around USD 54 trillion in health care costs by mid-century, leading medical experts say in a new report.

Investing in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions would be far cheaper than paying the health costs associated with polluted air, and would also result in millions fewer premature deaths, write the authors ofa study published in the Lancet Planetary Health.

According to the World Health Organization, 92% of people who live in cities do not breathe safe air, and 6.5 million people die each year due to poor ambient air quality.

The report also outlines basic climate policy options which would have an immediate and positive impact both on the health and economies of the world’s societies.

Fracking is a “loaded gun pointed straight at the head of every man, woman & child alive” #auspol

Despite warnings about Global Warming since the Brundtland report in the 1980s, our politicians have continued on a course, that will destroy the environment and ultimately the human race. We do not have till 2030 or 2050, we needed to have started, doing something about in the 1980s!

Emissions From Fracking 5 Times Higher Than Reported

Steve Hanley

Natural gas is not a “bridge fuel to the future.”

It is a death sentence for humanity.

Think that is too strong?

Think again.

A new study by the Environmental Defense Fund finds that methane escaping from fracking operations in Pennsylvania “causes the same near term climate pollution as 11 coal fired power plants” and is “five times higher than what oil and gas companies report” to the state.

A previous assessment by EDF last November found methane emissions escaping from oil and gas wells in New Mexico are “equivalent to the climate impact of approximately 12 coal fired power plants.”

In its executive summary of the study, the EDF says, “The analysis — based on peer-reviewed research and emissions data collected at Pennsylvania well sites — examines both the total amount of methane and volatile organic compounds emitted from…

#DWP Review of #PIP A car crash waiting to happen.

jaynelinney

So the ‘Honourable’ disabilities minister Sarah Newton stated in a press release (no questions people) the DWP is to review 1.6 Million PIP application forms; so the 220,000 claimants with Mental Health problems (of which I am one) should receive the Mobility element previously disallowed.

This simply Terrifies me. On paper I ought to be able to look forward to a point some time in the (distant?) future, my PIP award resembles a similar amount to that of my prior DLA – about an extra £35 a week. However  I share the fears of  fellow blogger  Joe Halewood ‏who said on Twitter “What sort of idiot thinks reassessing 1.6 m PIP claimants – and it will be a FULL reassessment not just MH aspects – is good news? PIP will go down as well as up and some will have it taken away. 1.6 m more stressed out claimants too!”

Israel’s Role In Africa Repression, Israel is a Settler State ( Colonialism )

~ Israel funded and trained the military repression of anti-colonial uprisings and/or dictatorship in the Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Benin, Cameroon, Senegal, Togo, Uganda, Nigeria, and Somalia.37

~ In the neo-colonial civil wars, former colonial powers and current imperial powers fuel, arm, and even instigate these wars to divide and re-conquer Africa. Israel has armed many or all sides. A prime example is Israel’s arming of the three sides of Angola’s civil war at different times over four decades.38

Guest Post by Paul Stafford: Free to Frack?

It would appear the UK Government has learnt from the USA, bringing forward an Act, that will protect Frackers and their supporters. At the expense of the public and environment!

DRILL OR DROP?

The Infrastructure Act unexpectedly made news last week with the closure of a loophole on fracking consent. Fracking in the UK now looks unlikely in 2017. But 2018 could be very different, with fracking now expected at two sites and shale gas companies looking for new locations. In this guest post, barrister Paul Stafford examines the consequences for landowners of the Infrastructure Act provisions on fracking.

Open Letter from student societies demanding the University cancel the Balfour ‘celebrations’

The League of Nations, which the #USA based United Nations replaced, made clear;

Article 22 of The League of Nations Covenant stated that the right of “those colonies and territories which, as a consequence of the late war, have ceased to be under the sovereignty of the States which formerly governed them and which are inhabited by peoples not yet able to stand by themselves…there should be applied the principle that the well being and development of such people form a sacred trust of civilisation and that the securities for the performance of this trust should be embodied in this Covenant”.

Also the British Government in a White Paper, May 17 1939, concluded;

  1. “The proposal of partition recommended by the Royal Commission, namely the establishment of self-supporting independent Arab and Jewish states within Palestine, has been found to be impracticable.
  2. His Majesty’s Government now declares unequivocally that it is not part of their policy that Palestine should become a Jewish state.
  3. The object of His Majesty’s Government is the establishment within 10 years  (i.e., by the end of its Mandate) of an independent Palestine State…in which Arabs and Jews share in government in such a way as to ensure that the essential interests of each community are safeguarded”.

But the Zionists managed to threaten and bribe politicians and using the Balfour Declaration as prove of their right of a Jewish State.  And so started the Palestinian’s Nakba, their ‘holocaust’!

Guest Post by Jon and Val Mager: Why the government must block fracking based on what we learned about regulation of the KM8 site

If we are to slow Global Warming down (it is too late to stop it), we have to stop using fossil fuels.  We cannot proceed with further oil & gas exploitation, especially unconventional fossil fuels like shale gas. From people’s experience in the USA and Australia, there is the added environmental issues from High Pressure horizontal slick-water hydraulic fracturing (fracking), there is no place for it, anywhere!

As for the Environmental Agency (EA) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE), they are no longer fit for purpose.  They only deal with incidents, after the fact, when it is too late to save life and the environment.  Politicains should be acting on the ‘Precautionary Principle’, not business before people.
